Library Card

Once you have joined the library, you will be issued with a library card.  You must have this card with you if you wish to borrow.  If you lose this card, charges may apply, see policies related to lost or stolen library card.

Please let the library know if you change your address or other contact details.

Borrowing Entitlements

You may borrow a total of eight items from the three Rockingham libraries.  At Safety Bay Public Library, the eight items may include two videos/DVDs, two CD-Roms and one music CD.  The borrowing period is 4 weeks, unless recalled.

Returns

We encourage library users to return items to the library from which the items were borrowed.   After hours return chutes are located near the front entrance of Safety Bay Library and the Rockingham Regional Library.

Renewals

You can renew your loans by 

  1. Contacting us by phone (08 9527 3338) and quoting your library barcode
  2. Viewing your patron information Enter your Library card barcode in the User ID text box, your library pin in the Library PIN textbox, and then click the SUBMIT button. 

If you do not have a Library PIN, you will need to create a PIN.  The PIN must be numeric (4 to 6 digits in length, no letters or special characters). You need to re-enter your PIN to confirm, then finally click the SUBMIT button. 

Note: Items can be renewed only twice.  Items cannot be renewed if an account notice has been sent to the borrower.

Requests

You can also borrow from other public libraries throughout Western Australia by means of the inter-library loans service.  Please enquire with staff for this service.

Recalled Items

Most items borrowed are subject to recall to allow everyone access to library collections.  You will be notified by phone or letter if an item is recalled and you will have 7 days to return it.
